bike laneMaking neighborhoods bike and pedestrian friendly is all about improving the quality of life for your friends, neighbors, residents, and constituents. Bike-friendly streets are safer streets that people want to visit, walk down, shop on, and use for recreation as well as transportation.

Bike Pittsburgh is behind the grassroots movement here in Pittsburgh pushing for these improvements. The improvements include bike lanes, bike racks, better crosswalks, better pedestrian signals, traffic-calming measures, and better bike route signs.Philly Crosswalk

Such improvements range from inexpensive (bike lanes and racks) to pricey (in the case of some traffic-calming measures), however they all result in improved quality of life, fewer accidents and fatalities, and better, stronger communities.
